I've found my go-to Thai restaurant near home. The ambience: casual. The food: spiced just right, literally. The location: easy for takeout and it's close to a Publix so I can do some shopping too. Green Curry Tofu: If you've read my reviews, you'll know it's my go-to favorite Thai dish. It's important to me that the curry sauce/gravy is thick and not watery, which usually means there's enough buttery coconut milk to give it that velvety consistency. Erawan does it just that way so that my rice and curry become one. They didn't skimp on the tofu (it's more like fried bean curd), they're generous on the bamboo shoots, and "American hot" was the way to go and just the right amount of heat I like. Oh, and their brown rice is delicious to me for some reason: it's fluffy and unlike the other brown rices I've ever had. This was a happy accident because I ordered white rice but received brown instead. It's like they know me. Drunken Noodles with Chicken: I love rice noodles and to me, this is the Thai version of chow fun, except it's more flavorful. I ordered this "Thai hot" just to test how hot this got. This had me in tears in a "burn so good" way but eventually I had to wimp out and drink some milk. I would get this again, but do it American hot or milder. They really stuck me with the chili seeds and peppers in my order. Generous amount of chicken, not too many veggies, but I'm ok with that. Noodles are where it's at. Service here is ok. I really don't expect much from most Asian restaurants. I should have prefaced this that I ordered this to-go so I didn't actually dine here. Prices for dinner are a little more expensive (even without the premium for the organic meats), but it's worth it to me versus getting a small portion of bland curry.

You can find Erawan Organic Thai Restaurant at 7537 Roswell Rd, Atlanta, GA 30350 in the Towbridge Crossing shopping center anchored by Publix on Roswell Rd, about 3 blocks North of the Abernathy Rd intersection. I've always thought there was an unusual lack of decent Thai restaurants in the Perimeter Mall area - sure there's Singha Thai in Dunwoody, Little Thai Cuisine on Sandy Springs Cir and Simply Thai on N Shallowford Rd, but while they are all decent restaurants (the standout is Singha Thai) they are a bit on the Americanized side of Thai with dumbed-down spice levels and rather indistinctive flavors. In any case, from my work location at Northpark all the Thai restaurants were so far away that it was more pain than it was worth to visit them, so I was very happy to discover Erawan. As the name implies, Erawan is an organic restaurant and the food is quite good. It still suffers from a bit of "dummying down" of the distinctive flavors but I can understand that as the typical American palate isn't very sophisticated. That being said, all of the constituent parts of the items I tired were very good and fresh. You can taste the individual spices in the curries and the sauces will get you sopping up every drop. The meal started with Spring Rolls which I thought good but nothing special. We also ordered an Erawan roll from the sushi menu which was surprisingly good - it usually scares me a bit to order sushi at a non-sushi restaurant as I haven't had very good luck with that, but fortunately Erawan did a good job, at least with this roll (Avocado and Eel). Today I went for the Basil Chicken as most of our table of four ordered either Panang or Masaman curries. The chicken was perfect, juicy with crisp wok-sauteed veggies and just the right amount of basil and sauce. I love the brown rice mix they have here - most restaurants can't seem to get brown rice right - it's either over or under cooked. I believe this was a mix of brown and Asian short-grain white rice and the consistency and flavor was very good and perfectly cooked (it's tougher to do this than you might think - try it at home some time). I also tried the other curry dishes and have this to say about them: The Masaman Chicken was good but I think this curry needed a bit of punch (but that just may be me, as I typically don't order it as I prefer the flavors in the Panang). The Panang Curry Chicken was very good - I'll probably order this next time. The Penang Curry Tofu didn't taste like much of anything to me but that may be more the type of tofu used - it was the stiff tofu and I like the soft better (however the soft is much harder to stir-fry and keep in tact). The interior was spacious with high ceilings but a bit noisy - it was also very busy - I think we got there just a few minutes before noon and it was nearly full. I liked the decorations, sparse but tasteful. The restaurant as also spotless and very clean. I thought the service initially very good but the staff seemed a little overwhelmed and it took some time to get a water glass refill and our check. I'm still rating this 4 stars for the quality of the food.

I've eaten at Erawan a few times, and it's become one of my go-to lunch places. I've ordered a few different dishes and the ones that stood out were the ginger chicken, garlic chicken, and panang curry with chicken (of course). The ginger chicken's aroma is to die for; gawd, it smells good! But it doesn't taste like ginger. The broth is very clean, light and tasty, but the scent is what gets you. The garlic chicken is not garlicky at all. I eat raw garlic fairly often so this didn't register for me as significant, so if you're worried about eating it on a date, don't. I barely needed a peppermint after eating it. I was surprised by how less sweet the panang curry was while still having the same flavors I recognize; and I loved that it was less sweet; I feel like the curry had a better flavor that way and the spice wasn't as powerful. Speaking of spice...they ain't playing at Erawan. I got the Medium hot level on one of my meals, and while I could still eat and taste my chicken, my mouth was on fire! Normally, this does not bother me but spicy foods can cause unpleasant bodily functions if one is not prepared, so be ready if you want to go there. I stick with the level below Medium which is American hot (yeah, they are punking Americans out with this one but the truth hurts.) The food is prettily displayed and doesn't pretty food make you feel better about eating it? The restaurant has plenty of space, so you don't feel cramped and parking is plentiful in the parking lot. Overall, there are no surprises at Erawan, but they are consistent and sometimes that matters more. Yelp 100 #34

I recently revisited this long-familiar restaurant, now housed in a much better location than its previous locale next door to a sketchy adult business. My daughter was delighted to see a dish that we had only enjoyed once before: Thai curry noodles. She pronounced it delicious! I ordered the Erawan Rama Beef , , , grass-fed beef with a smoky flavor, served in curry sauce with steamed broccoli. Fortunately I had read other reviews that cautioned against ordering the highest spice level, Thai spicy, and went with American spicy (3rd level) instead. Just the right amount of spice but not for the typical American palate, so be careful! The vegetables were crunchy and the layers of flavor in the sauce were complicated and delicious. We will be back, and often!

I had the beef noodle soup Togo and it was absolutely amazing! I ordered extra spicy and it surely did meet my expectations. Best thai I've had in the sandy springs area. I will definitely be back. The noodles and garnishes came packed on the side and the beef came in the broth.

Food was great.. Place was fancy.. And customer service was wonderful but it did take the waiter a few minutes or quite a few minutes to get to our table but otherwise it was pretty good and I would give it about an 8 out of 10...

Awesome food and service. Some of the freshest sushi around! The coconut soup is top-notch and the basil chicken and shrimp are to die for!

Erawan is an organic Thai restaurant located in Sandy Springs. I guess they've got Atlanta's north side covered because there's L'Thai Organic Thai Restaurant in Tucker (northeast Atlanta) and L'Thai West at West Village in Smyrna (northwest Atlanta). Who knew organic Thai food was such a thing, especially in Atlanta? Erawan serves organic beef, pork, and chicken. They also serve organic beverages, such as certain organic beers and wine. These all-natural foods and drinks come at a premium. At dinnertime, plan to spend about $15-20 per person per entree. For Thai food, especially in this nice-but-not-upscale setting, I think these prices are too expensive. Also, some of the specials which use non-organic ingredients, are priced at organic prices. We showed up with a group of 9 without a reservation and were seated immediately at one of the long group tables in the back. On a Tuesday night, the restaurant was mostly empty the entire time (~2 hours) we were there. At night, the restaurant is very dimly lit. The restaurant is spacious and elegantly decorated with Thai artwork and fabrics. It's nice. The atmosphere is quiet and casual. The menu is pretty comprehensive as far as Thai restaurants in Atlanta go. They have appetizers like satay (meat skewers) and spring rolls. No fish cake, though. There's soups (e.g. coconut, lemongrass), salads (e.g. papaya, larb -- chicken and lime juice), rice, noodle (e.g. pad Thai, pad si ew), and curry dishes (e.g. red, green, massaman). Some of the more unique menu items are the noodle soups and chef's specials. You don't see noodle soups on the menu at American Thai restaurants too often and these are indeed Thai noodle soups. The chef's specials often include duck and seafood, such as catfish, soft-shelled crab, and shrimp. I tried the crispy duck with basil ($16.95) and the duck noodle soup ($12.95). The crispy duck with basil consisted of crispy boneless duck sauteed with grounded hot peppers, basil, red bell pepper, and garlic. The duck noodle soup consisted of rice noodles, sliced roast duck, bean sprouts, green onion, and cilantro. Both dishes weren't bad. The crispy duck with basil had a nice presentation and looked very appetizing. The duck was indeed crispy. I recommend sharing this dish as it's a lot of fried duck for one person. Some of the pieces of duck were tough and dry, which led me to believe part of the duck was overcooked. I'm not sure if I'd order this dish again, but it's certainly worth at least one shot. The sauce used on the duck is sweet and a little intense, reminiscent of Americanized Chinese food sauces. The duck noodle soup immediately reminded me of pho. However, it is not pho. It's a Thai noodle soup with a more smoky, meaty-flavored broth, which is less fragrant than pho. The bowl of noodles was large, filling, and comforting. If you're in the mood for noodle soup, it's an OK option. I'd order it again. My tablemates ordered a variety of rice and noodle dishes from basil fried rice to pad Thai to pad see ew. All of the dishes looked fine to me. A nice option that Erawan offers is brown rice. If you want to eat healthy, order brown rice instead of white rice. White rice tastes better though. Service was good. The servers were helpful and attentive. The food came out from the kitchen in a reasonable amount of time. Erawan is located in the Publix shopping center next to the Ford dealership.

I am from Los Angeles and let me tell ya they have amazing Thai food there, I've been to two Thai restaurants and both were pretty damn good! This one had much bigger portions and yeah the price seems somewhat hefty but it's what I'm use to paying in Los Angeles, everywhere I've eaten so far pricing wise has been similar to Los Angeles in terms of food pricing, anyway I ordered the basil fried rice with chicken pretty basic dish you can't screw up! It's the best I've tasted so far even comparing to Los Angeles

Love this place! My go-to Weekend takeout place!Coconut Soup is AMAZING, the broth is sooooo yummy and there's always huge shrimp! The Garden rolls are good, great flavor with a delicious dipping sauce but the ratio of shrimp seem to vary every time I get it, still good though and I'll still continue to order it every time! Tried the Pad Thai Pork last week and it was delicious! I dipped some bites in the side of peanut sauce I ordered and it just made it more awesome! Love Love Love!

The service was horrible. We came in for lunch and ordered 2 lunch entrees and 2 appetizers. The coconut soup was bland with mushrooms that were cut too thick. The cheese rolls were ok but they didn't have enough filling. I ordered the thai curry with green beans which has a description of red curry which ended up being a mix of brown sauce and a nasty mix of tasteless spices. When I asked the server for a different dish the owner said they would charge us for the curry and whatever else we would order. I've never had that happen at a thai restaurant. Both the lunch entrees were supposed to come with spring rolls which didn't come until we had to request it twice. My husband's spicy basil fried rice was ok but the bad experience will not have is returning here again. There are plenty of other thai options in this area, and I would recommend trying them over this place. Never again!

One of the better Thai restaurants I 've tried in Atlanta. They have way too many options to choose from and can sometimes get confusing. I 've tried spicy basil fried rice, Thai curry noodles, and yellow curry. They were all really good. Remember spring roll comes with entree so don't order spring roll appetizer. Thai iced coffee is also very good. I definitely recommend this place

I've eaten here twice about six months apart. The first time we went for lunch and had a basil roll appetizer, the tempura vegetables, and the tofu pad Thai, all of which were incredible. The atmosphere and the service were great as well. The second time I ordered takeout. I called several times before I could get someone to actually pick up the phone and when someone did pick up they sounded extremely rushed. (Maybe they are understaffed?) After I picked up the order and went home, I noticed that there was no rice with the dishes, which were both supposed to come with rice. In fact, I had been asked on the phone to specify what kind of rice I wanted. Also something tasted off about the curry dish I ordered -- it was extremely bitter and unappetizing. I'm very baffled as to why there was such a difference in my two experiences with Erawan but I think I would still give them another chance because the first experience was so good.

Erawan wins points for being one of the few restaurants in the area to serve Thai food, and for its generous portions, but a slightly out of the way location, somewhat overpriced menu, and merely average food limit it to being nothing more than a three-star establishment. As I mentioned above, the prices are definitely set a bit higher than you'd expect, and likely are a reflection of the high numbers of business travelers and consultants who work in the surrounding area, as they are much more price-insensitive than your typical consumer. However the place is certainly solid, and at the very least comes equipped with the full suite of dishes you'd usually expect at a Thai place: Pad Thai, Spring Rolls, Fried Rice, Chicken Satay, etc...the gangs all here. One good thing is that a reservation is definitely not necessary for Erawan - feel free to arrive at your leisure. Just make sure you come hungry - lunch/dinner plates are very well portioned - just as you'd expect from your middle-of-the-road Thai restaurant. First time coming (lunch), I tried the Pad See Ew, after being inspired by a friend who ordered the same during my last Thai food excursion. It was about as I'd expect, maybe slightly better in fact, and came with big flat noodles, properly steamed vegetables, and a good overall flavor. On my return trip, I came with a slightly bigger crew for dinner, and got to take in the restaurant a little bit more. However, as a restaurant located next to a liquor store in a strip mall, there's really not too much to see. However, the Drunken Noodles were solid, although on this trip it became very evident, as pointed out by another astute reviewer previously, that Erawan uses somewhat low-quality noodles in their noodle-based dishes. The taste just isn't there, so even though the other components of the dish somewhat make up for it, at the end of your meal, you're left feeling quite simply as if you could've done better with your dinner choice. Disappointing obviously, not not a dealbreaker I guess, as I clearly didn't object to coming back a second time. If you love Thai food, Erawan is more than worth the trip - if only once. Just don't expect "phenomenal food", as some reviews have claimed, because that's a far cry from what I experienced. "Decent food" - if you were to ask me - would be the much more appropriate way to put it.

Erawan dishes out some pretty good Thai food in the Sandy Springs area. I've only had their lunch as they are right near work so I can't vouch for dinnertime or their newish sushi bar. They have all the standards and you can add most protein options (tofu, chicken, beef, shrimp, etc). They have "organic" in their name but you pay $2 for organic protein. Curries and noodle dishes are usually my go-to. I dig their pad thai, pad see-eew, red curry and panang curry. Lunch specials come with a fried spring roll. A bit greasy but the taste is good. All in all, not much to write home about but if you need a Thai fix in Sandy Springs, they are solid.

The cheese sticks with crab meat are amazing. We also love the coconut soup and all noodle dishes. My husband gets the grass fed beef and I usually order the organic chicken. This restaurant is one of a kind. Thumbs up!!

I am not sure which is worse, the service or the food. So let's start at the beginning. They come for the drink order. I order a beer and am told "sorry I don't think I have that". So I look again and before saying anything she says "we also don't have this one, this one, that one or these three here and I am not sure about these here". So why give me a menu full of beers if you don't have any of them? I said fine and took a Sprite. My dinner partner took a sweet tea. The drinks arrive and the sweet tea is bad, so they end up just drinking water. However, we didn't complain and just paid the $2.50 for the tea, not that the waitress would notice or care. On to the food, the salmon roll was the first thing out. It was dark in color which was the first tip that it wasn't fresh salmon. Which was correct, it was old and we ate two pieces and sent the remaining four away. Then came the dark brown crisp spring rolls to the table. They were way over cooked and if left for a minute more in the oil would have been burnt. We ate them anyway as we were hungry. But they were not very good. Lastly the two main course dishes... The Pad Thai was one dish. It was horrible! I feed my dog better food. The noodles were over cooked and stuck together in a mound on the plate. Mixed in were several pieces of the chicken which had no flavor at all and was chewy. The sauce was almost non existent and the plate just stunk (not sure what the odor was). Oh and it was topped with a mound of uncooked sprouts. I had two or three bites and couldn't eat any more. The other dish is another simple classic Thai dish, Basil Chicken and white Rice. Well at least the rice was good! The chicken again chewy and there were only six pieces of vegetable in the whole dish. My dinner partner ate it although it really was just four or five bites of food. The waitress asked if I wanted a to go box for the Pad Thai and I said no.... Might be a tip that the person didn't like it if 98% is still on the plate and they say you can take it away! But that didn't even prompt a "didn't you like it or was it okay". She simply took the plate away. Of course she didn't say anything taking over half the Salmon Roll away to the trash either so why start asking now. Next she brings the bill and says I put the beer you ordered on here by mistake but it is only two dollars more than your soda (which I might add she never refilled or asked if she could refill). So she didn't have to correct the check she said she would just bring me back the two dollar difference in cash after she ran my card. I mean we wouldn't want to inconvenience the waitress by correcting her mistake before presenting the bill. So needless to say the waitress took our order and that was the extent of her involvement with us. No refills or concerns over the meal. But she was quick to bring the check! This is the worst Thai I have ever had and I eat it frequently. The only thing I can think is people like that the advertise an "Organic" option... But truthfully how do you know your getting any different chicken or beef from the next table other than the extra $2 they charge for it? I wouldn't be surprised if they use the same thing for all their dishes. Anyway, place was clean inside but I wouldn't go back.

Great atmosphere, respectful and professional employees over the phone and in person and the food is delish!!! My fave is the coconut curry chicken (the flavor is so savoring). My favorite sushi is the crunch roll. I had a friend that ate sushi prepacked from markets (publix, whole foods, etc.) and tried to tell me it's the same???? I had to laugh but I tried it and for one I do not do premade, sat out all day sushi even if it was cool...then the Wasabi was horrible! I have never had Wasabi that did not burn my nostrils or my mouth period, I don't know what it actually was. I have tried some sushi spots in Buckhead as well and right now Orangic Thai is my go to place. I want to try some other recommended dishes, I'm sure it's just as good as everything else.

We usually order for pickup. I've tried about everything on the menu and I usually get seafood while my husband gets chicken. The brown rice is surprisingly delicious considering my brown eyes never turns out that way. The appetizers aren't anything really that special the angel wings are just fried wings drenched in dipping sauce while everything else is just typical Thai appetizer dishes. Their fried rice is tasted like typical Chinese style fried rice with a few basil leaves. our favorite thing about this place is there spice. when you ask for Thai hot, it's ridiculously hot and somehow makes everything more delicious!

This place was OKAY. Definitely a solid 3-stars. Very nice dining decorations. This place use to be elsewhere down Roswell Road, but is now in the plaza with the Publix. I came by with a friend during lunch on a weekday and it was pretty busy. Luckily the crowd didn't come until after us so we were seated quickly. We both ordered the Pad Thai entree and Tom Kha Coconut Soup. The soup was delicious. Plenty of mushrooms and a few chunks of white chicken meat. Our entrees were okay. They didn't have any lime when asked for some instead lemon was available. The pad thai was a tad sweet. It was just okay although it was organic.

This us my probably 5th times here. I was not sure when I came here first - but it's a hidden gem. Food is very good, very clean and great service. Friend rice, yellow curry are my and my daughter's favorite. Last time I tried sticky rice and mango dessert; it was goood.

I'm almost positive they put something addictive in their spicy noodle soup. I work from home now so I can't eat here every week like I used to. The food has been freaking phenomenal. The calamari, scallops and shrimps are always cooked perfectly. I always get it medium spicy and add a bit more spices from the spice tray. I love the spicy fish sauce and the hot pepper powder. It gives the soup the perfect kick. I also like using their restroom. They have bath and body hand soap that smells so nice. Lol I like to see what flavor they have that day.

I have been here twice for weekday lunch and both times have been very good. The first time, I went with someone born in Thailand so I was excited when he said this was one of his favorite Thai joints. I have seen the word "Organic" thrown in the name of the restaurant, which had me thinking that everything they offer is organic. Wrong. You will pay $2 extra (at least for lunch specials) to get organic meat. Maybe I'm eating harmful chemicals, but I am not parting with those $2... Service is pretty good and fast during lunch. The ladies who have served us have been friendly and accommodating. The first time, I got Thai Basil Beef with brown rice (yes, you can get brown rice!) and I felt that the portion was perfect for lunch. At about $8, it's not the cheapest lunch option, nor is it the priciest. I asked for American hot (while I love spicy, Thai hot will have my mucus glands go into overdrive). Pretty freakin' spicy, but tolerable for me. I was still coughing for a few minutes after lunch (this always happens to me when I eat pretty spicy food--is my body telling me something?). The second time, I got Chicken Larb, which is ground chicken served with lettuce leaves. This was delicious and light and is a good low-carb option for those who are counting this type of calorie. I don't really care, but I did like how the food sat comfortably in my belly for the after-lunch half of my day. Just keep in mind that since you eat this with your hands (or at least, I did), you may have stinky fingers after, as the fish sauce dribbles out of the lettuce leaves. I fixed this issue by making a stop at the ladies' room (instead of licking my fingers at the table). I am excited to try other things here. If you haven't been yet and enjoy Thai cuisine, stop by. Lunch portions and prices are great, in case you're on the fence.

Since moving to Atlanta, this is the place I frequent the most. Do I live across the street? Yes. Will I drive here when I move out of Sandy Spring? YES! I have only ordered for pick up. When I call ahead, they're always on time. And when I show up in person, it only takes 15 min. They have organic chicken and beef!!! Extra two stars for that alone. Note: prices do increase when you request organic meat. I've loved everything I've tried: Pad Thai, massaman curry, sweet and sour, garlic sauce, ginger sauce, fried rice... all good. Tip: Sweet and sour chicken is not the Americanized sweet and sour with red sauce. It's fried chicken covered in a sweet sticky brown sauce that I dream about on a regular basis. YUM. Another Tip: Don't be alarmed if you go in and it's empty - it's a very popular spot for carry out.

My husband and I both enjoy the food here. We tend to be creatures of habit, so we often order Tom Kha soup, pad tai with shrimp, and masaman curry with chicken. The soup is always full of chicken and a nice balance between the acidity and richness of the coconut milk. My pad tai is never overly sweet, just the right amount. I will say, sometimes they overcook the shrimp, but not to the rubber ball stage. They could give a bit more lime to go with it, but they gladly give more if asked. My husband's curry never fails to delight him. He orders it Thai hot and they deliver.

Honestly I think that 3 stars is a little harsh given the general lack of decent Thai food in Atlanta. The overall food quality here is above average for the area and I do appreciate the organic option, however I feel that Erawan (and many other Atlanta Thai restaurants) are using inferior noodles. This is most evident in the Pad See Ew or Drunken noodles. Also, I feel as if the wait staff does not believe me when I ask for Thai Hot. The Dunwoody/Sandy Springs area is pretty starved for choice on thai food, so Erawan is a decent, but slightly over priced option. If you do come here try to get seated in the portion of the restaurant by the window. The segment in the direction of the bathrooms tends to get forgotten by the waitstaff, even when the restaurant is not busy.

[TL;DR] om nom nom good. however, if you're going to dig around the lunch menu for the pad thai, let me save you the trouble. it's not there. first of all, most lunch entrees run about ~$8.50. it comes with a spring roll. that is all. :-) i had the tofu w/ garlic sauce and brown rice. it was really dang good. i'll go back. they recently started a sushi bar, but really i hate mixed cuisine so there's pretty much no way in hell i'm going to order sushi when i'm feeling up for thai or go eat sushi at a thai restaurant when i'm up for sushi. next time, i'm going for the larb. :o) i hear from a source that it's good.

This review is specific to one dish: The Spicy Catfish. I've ordered catfish all over the place, but this is the best preparation I've ever had. I actually got it the first time because a friend on a previous visit had made exactly the same claim: Best catfish he'd ever had. I was skeptical because catfish, while a dependably delicious fried food, is not terribly exciting. But add a nice spicy coconut-base Thai curry sauce and you've got some honest-to-blog capital-c Cuisine. They serve it with some fresh broccoli to get some vitamins in you (always appreciated) and I can't figure out why their brown rice is so much better than mine (probably the rice cooker.) I moved up the road to Roswell last year and have been wanting to get back to Erawan ever since, but I'd been wondering if it really is as good as I remembered. Yup. I've enjoyed the other dishes I've had there and my friends have seemed very happy with theirs, but I'm stuck on the Spicy Catfish. Oh, and an anecdote: We picked up a to-go order last night and the guy who rang us up told me I was a lucky man and shook my hand. I knew what he meant (my lovely lady friend was with me) but I played dumb and said "Because I ordered the Spicy Catfish, right?" (He didn't say it at all in a creepy way- just a nice guy paying a compliment. In fact, the service has always been very good.)

I go to this place quite often. My favorite thing on their menu is duck noodle soup, it's so yammi. Service is good, and prices are reasonable. This is my favorite Thai place :)

Man oh man oh man there are 3 Thai places closer to me than Erawan but I will always choose to come back here. Their prices are a couple dollars more, but here's the thing...they will actually make you spicy food! If you say Thai hot, they will make it spicy! I've found very few places that actually make stuff spicy enough to have my nose running (and later feeling like my mouth is burning off when I stop eating) and yet I can still enjoy the flavors of the food. They can do it here! The organic options are still another couple of dollars on top of the higher prices if that is worth it for you then it works. But for me I don't think there is enough meat specifically in the drunken noodles to warrant the upcharge. The service is always very good, even when I come just for take out. I had just driven south on Roswell Road and drove through some seriously heavy rain that seemed to be turning into a storm, so there was random thunder on and off. The one server and I talked about how it kind of ruined a good bit of summer (my poor tomatoes). They are all super sweet! The portion for dinner is huge, you could easily make 3 meals out of it or two if you go all out. They use bell peppers, broccoli, and snap peas in their drunken noodles. I tend to like more vegetables but this is a decent mix. I always get mine with chicken. Sometimes it's just a tad dry but nothing awful, it is white meat after all.

Food is awesome but service is something to be desired. Seems the wait staff is understaffed. It took 3 tries to tell waiter to just get water until one of us had to physically go & get it.

Probably the best Thai places in the area. I am a big fan of chicken panang and I get it just about every time. Love the spring rolls too. I've never had a problem with service here, it is always quick. I've been here for lunch and dinner. I was a bit disappointed in the Pad Thai, as I have had better. I only tried it once, so I am willing to give it another shot!

  • Sandra B.

Does organic mean slow? Small appetizer took 35 minutes to come out. Entree took another 15 minutes. The wait wasn't even worth the mediocre quality food. Then we waited another 20 minutes until we just gave up and went to the counter to join a line of 4 more people waiting to pay. I don't understand the high ratings of this place.

  • Mary A.

The food is good, I really enjoyed the curry every time I have gone here. The service is nothing to write home about, and the ambiance is actually pretty nice for it being in a shopping center. Its also really close to where I live, so I was hoping this to be my pick-up dinner place. However I was a little disappointed that a quick to-go meal cost me ~$16. (added brown rice, but did not order an organic menu) The Green Curry is very good. (don't go with 'Thai hot' unless you want it painfully spicy). I'm usually one to have no issue with paying a little more for quality, but still.... over priced.

Great service. When I asked the size of the appetizer, our server let me know if I wanted to be full, I'd better order something else. They gave us a complementary spring roll, which was delicious. The angel wings were amazing. They were super crispy chicken wings, and the fresh crispy basil really added another dimension. I had the Tom Kha with chicken, which really came together, and was a great coconut milk soup with typical flavors like lemongrass and cilantro. It was just different from any other Thai dish I've ever had, it was light, fresh, and not too sweet. Really hit the spot.

Disclaimer: I haven't been to that many Thai restaurants in Atlanta yet. Having said that, Erawan is currently among my top two favorite Thai restaurants in ATL. Their food is absolutely solid - quality authentic Thai food bursting with flavor. CHICKEN TOM YUM SOUP (Small $4) This was a very brothy and lime-y Tom Yum soup which had very tender slices of chicken, mushroom, tomatoes and lemongrass. Delish. PANANG CURRY (Chicken $11.50) The chicken was nice and tender here as well, compared to some other restaurants that have dry chicken. The curry was nice and flavorful with a bit of a kick. I asked for mild, and it came out a tad bit spicier than I could handle. Definitely order your spice one level less than your usual. However, I absolutely loooved my dish. TIPS 1. There's a Scoutmob currently! 50% off up to $10. 2. Order one spice level milder than you normally take your spiciness. 3. Watch out for peanuts if you have peanut allergies! The missed star goes to decor and slightly high prices. The decor is rather plain. The tablecloth is really pretty, but the walls are a bit bare. Also, the prices aren't out the roof like at Tamarind, but they are a tad bit higher than what I was use to for Thai food in St. Louis. Overall, I'd definitely come eat here again if I were in a Thai mood. [8 of 100]

*Came here because of Scoutmob* - Glad I came! LOCATION: This place is located in a plaza with Publix so just look for the Publix and it'll be on the left side of the plaza INTERIOR: The inside was very well done and clean. Didn't feel "cheap" and seems relatively new. Lights not too bright and on the dimmer side creating a nice semi-fancy vibe while dining FOOD: I ordered the Spicy Basil chicken and was asked how spicy. I went ahead and just said very spicy. Food came out at decent speed and i gotta say, this is by far the best Spicy Basil Chicken I ever had. I ordered it with some brown rice and it wasn't the cheap plain brown rice. You could say it's "fancier" as the grain mixture for their brown rice is some what higher quality. What made the entree so great was the spice blend. It was JUST right in spice level and i loved the multiple flavors it had in the sauce. Chicken to Veggie ratio was non complainable. SERVICE: Water level was always kept up and I could tell the server was attentive (wasn't that busy on a wednesday night) Overall, I'd recommend giving this place a try. Will probably revisit to try some of their other dishes simply because I love their spice blends.

Really yummy Thai food for lunch or dinner. I am a big fan of their pad see ew. I highly recommend.

This is a common lunch place given all the offices in the area. It's pretty good food. I love the brown rice option on the entrees. The service is okay, not stellar. They're relatively fast. If you get takeout during lunch double check your bag, they mix bags when it gets busy. The sweet and sour is my favorite item there, as well as their panag curry.

    (3)
  • Joe M.

This is my go to Thai restaurant. The pad Thai is simply the best here and fried duck is amazing. I also recommend the sweet & sour chicken, pad see ew, and the cheese rolls. Just as another reviewer said if you ask for Thai hot, then it will be very hot but with a great flavor. I do both takeout and dine in. Their health score is 100.

Got take out today...angel wings, pad kra-prow with beef, seafood drunken noodles and Tom yum soup. Wings were okay, hard crunch, with sweet chili sauce. Pad kra prow beef had a lingering burn on the tongue (ordered mild) and was okay. Drunken noodle was mushy and had very little seafood (three shrimps, 1 scallop and 3 pieces of squid). Flavor of tom yum soup was good...one of those meals where you just shrug...(thought $ was kinda high for the portions...)

The BF had been raving and raving about this place so perhaps that set up my expectations a bit too high. I got the chicken massaman curry and I sampled a bit of his chicken pad thai. One thing is for sure -- medium, or "American hot" as they put it, is actually the right amount of spiciness! I love that they give you the option of white or brown rice for no extra charge (I believe, I didn't opt for brown rice that night). The curry was pretty good. I noticed they included huge hunks of overcooked red potatoes, of which I was not a fan. But they used good quality chicken breast and I didn't find any tendon, so I was glad about that. The dish could have also used some green pepper for color and variety. It did come with onions and cashews, though. As for the pad thai... it was good, but not my favorite. It had a very strong flavor that I couldn't place. It was also darker brown in color than I am used to. They use thinner noodles whereas I like the slightly thicker ones because they have a more chewy consistency. Service was great and they included York peppermint patties with the check, which was a nice touch and end to the meal. The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside, but don't be fooled. It's got a great atmosphere and is very elegantly decorated with darker colors and dim lighting. If you want to opt for organic meats, it's a few dollars more.

Excellent food. Glad they moved to this location. It's convenient being next to Publix, and inside is roomy and clean. The service is good for both lunch and dinner. I'm a big fan of their parents that and I also love the beef soup.

Okay, so I've been back twice since my last review, and it got better and better. I tried their wonton soup last time and it was SO good I wanted to drink it from the bowl, but my mother taught my better than that :) We tried their drunken noodle and are SO EXCITED because... well, where we used to live, we would frequent a Thai place that set the bar for all other Thai places. We've never found drunken noodle like the old regular had, so we gave it a shot here, and it was all we could do to not get on the tables and start singing and praising the Erawan gods. Score! We have found a competitor! I can't wait to try other dishes. I will say, they loooove filling your water glasses here, though. It gets kind of annoying, which I hate to even say because at least they are attentive and on top of things, but during my last lunch here, my friend's water was filled about six times. That just ain't right. :)

This is our standby in Sandy Springs for quick, good Thai. We'll get take out or eat there every two weeks it seems. Love the curries - Panang is the best. Mild is spicy enough for me, but you can order dishes to a variety of spiciness. The brown rice is nutty and delicious and I wish I knew where to buy it to cook at home. Although you will pay $15-20 per person, servings are very generous. Enjoy your meal with a Singha beer.

EVERYTHING on the menu is tasty, organic and delish. I was SO GLAD I found out they relocated. The old location was more visible, but lodged between a porn emporium, liquor store and massage place of ill repute... Not that there's anything wrong with that, but they didn't need a Thai place. They needed a pharmacy.

    (5)
  • Brittany W.

They have a good thai fried rice. Not the Chinese style with carrots and peas! Good portion sizes, good flavors. The lunch portion comes with a spring roll.

  • Steve J.

I only ever ordered Erawan to go. I only ever ordered red curry tofu thai hot with white rice. It was always fantastic (not as much with brown rice). It came with a spring roll that had just enough sweet and sour sauce for the spring roll. Note: the thai hot will do awful and terrible things to your bowels if you are not used to it. Star was docked because out of the 10 or so times I ordered my meal, they didn't start cooking it until I arrived and confirmed that I had ordered it at least 3. It is consistently flavorful and I would still highly recommend it.

  • B R.

The service here is terrible. I waited thirty minutes for a pick up order and was ignored for a good ten minutes by the staff while I waited. Once I finally got my food there were no apologies. The food is delicious if you have all day to stand around for it.

Organic thai food + thai chili garnish platter = deece mcgeese This is a tasty spot for lunch but I wouldn't come back for dinner. I normally get the spicy basil entree with brown rice. Co-workers come back often so they're doing something right. York mint patty with the check...

  • Joshua M.

First time here. Ordered take out. Atmosphere is clean and simple, looks modern not outdated Server who took my ordered never once smiled but was quick to ask me what I wanted and gave me a reasonable wait time Ordered the spicy basil with pork and jasmine rice instead of organic brown rice. On the spicy scale the server asked that I preferred 1 being the mildest and 5 the spiciest I chose a 4, and I must say it was pretty damn spicy!(I like spicey) Rice was almost over cooked but still good, other ingredients with the pork were fresh and not overly sauced. All in all pretty good.

  • Jen L.

Overpriced for the portions/quality you receive. We ordered the crispy duck salad. The amount of duck on the salad was almost nonexistent. While the salad's flavor was quite good it was too heavy on fish sauce/sodium for my taste. We also ordered the drunken noodle with grass fed beef. Paying the additional money for grass fed beef at a place that boasts organic, I was expecting tender and flavorful beef. The small amounts of beef that were served, were tough and lacking flavor. I was convinced it was actually an interfere cut of meat. The green curry was very tasty and prepared to our requested level of spiciness. The waitress was very attentive and happy to answer any questions that we had. While it wasn't a bad experience, we won't be back. There's much better tasting Thai with larger portions for the same price or less elsewhere.

Organic Thai food in Sandy Springs?? YES! This restaurant has become our new favorite ever since we found in 6 months ago. We eat at this location once a week and have not had a bad dish or service issue. It has been 5 stars each time. Organic beer is also on the menu. Price is reasonable. You can make your dishes pretty spicy. I get the Thai hot each time and never had too much pain. House made ice cream is good as well. I cannot say enough good things for a restaurant in my neighborhood. Easily one of two restaurants in Sandy Springs that I actually recommend. The tempura as an appetizer is fairly priced and has good variety. The won ton soup and egg rolls are also tasty. Too many main dishes to that are good to list. If you are in the area and like Thai food this is a must try. I see knocks on the service, but keep in mind this is casual dining and no one should expect fine dining service. I come here for the food and have never had or seen anything close to bad service.

My friend had dinner with a couple of his buddies here a few weeks ago and raved to me about it, so of course we had to go there for lunch this week - plus it's not that far from where I work either. So we arrived right around the lunch hour one afternoon to give it a try. As soon as we entered two girls at the hostess stand greeted us, led us to a booth and filled our water glasses as we looked over the menu. Their menu's quite extensive and has a good selection of Malaysian and Thai dishes: curries, soups, salads, noodles and rice dishes, etc - and there's a heavy emphasis on organic and natural ingredients. Nice differentiator - plus you have four different levels of spiciness to choose from. For lunch, I got the Jungle Thai entree with chicken and my friend went for the red snapper with an extra side of veggies between us to share (we asked if they could substitute more veggies for the rice, but on this occasion they couldn't - depends who's working the kitchen, I guess). Both lunches came with a spring roll and boy were those babies hot! I do believe I gave the roof of my mouth a pretty good second degree burn with the first bite - but I knew they were fresh made by the temperature - no microwave could do that, by golly! And when our entrees came out, I was pretty impressed there too - the jungle thai was full of veggies like broccoli, carrrots, mushrooms, peppers and chicken in a mildly spicy chili sauce (I opted for medium so I could actually taste the food and not just the spice). The snapper was also well done - the whole fish was fried in one piece with a nice side of steamed broccoli, onions and peppers (this made it "healthy"). So both dishes were good, but I wasn't blown away - I've had quite a bit of Thai lately, but maybe I just should have tried a different dish like one of the salads or soups. When the check came out it was accompanied by two York peppermint patties (good idea to banish any lingering heat from something spicy) and they took care of the check quickly. I had a good meal at Erawan, but I think I may have to give it another shot before I give it another star.

Location is perfect for me since I live a one minute car ride away. IT is hidden if you haven't been before. Attached to Publix. Staff can be very helpful when you ask questions about the menu. They are always friendly. Food is fantastic! Love the brown rice and organic meat option! I don't like spicy so they have to give me super mild. I often get the yellow curry, fried cheese, or Chicken tom yum soup. Entrees range from $10-$15. The flavor leaves you satisfied!

Awesome food. This review is based on my 3-4 time visits. Organic Tempura - Excellent a little oily but I guess fried food is :) Satay - Nice. The sauces are good. Spring Roll - Tasty. Tom Yum - Very nice and gives a good relief as it runs down the throat. Erawan Fried Rice - Tried with Tofu, it was wonderful. The taste was so good. I tried american hot and thai spicy. Both were exceptional. I did not feel that the chef put the spices at the last. They were cooked along with my fried rice. Very well presented as well. Drunken Noodles - Wow very very nice. Fried Banana - Very good. Overall very tasty and yummy food. I would surely visit more number of times.

Sometimes, you think you have had good food until you try food that is actually better. This place trumps all other. If its not its location and superb atmosphere, with dim lighting and waitresses in authentic thai outfits, it has to be the presentation of the food and smell of the amazing cuisine followed by what only can be describes as "perfection" when the food touches your taste buds and you get a warm feeling of happiness inside. This place goes above and beyond high expectations. when people say, from 1 to 10, 10 being the best, they are using this restaurant as a matter of defining what the best is. i come here as often as i can, and im getting to be a local. if you haven't visited this location, I reccommend that you put it in your "top 10 things to do before i die" list. tip: even if you dont like, or think you are good with spicy food, always pick medium spicyness. you are supposed to enjoy the food, not suffer from spicy exhaustion while eating, lol.

Not sure why you would go anywhere else in the area to eat Thai food. First it's organic which matters to our family. Secondly, every dish we have is superior to any other Thai restaurant around. And third, the wait staff is so caring and nice. My daughter who has her own food blog in Philly and I ate there Friday night. We began with the organic chicken Tom Kha soup. Lots of chicken, savory broth. We bought a large and the server ladled our flaming soup for us. Next we each had curry (Red 3/4 hotness-Matsaman 2/4 hotness) and side of steamed veggies and brown rice. Each dish was flavorful and generous. We will be back.

This is the best Thai food that I've ever had. Really. I like that you can choose which degree of spiciness best suits your fancy. I had the Matsuman Curry with Tofu. It was the perfect degree of spiciness and had lots of yummy cashew nuts in the rich tomato broth. The tofu was perfectly cooked so that it was firm and not mushy. I would give Erawan's 5 stars except that our water was not refilled often and when you are eating spicy food, this becomes an important component of your meal. However, we will definitely be back for both dine-in and carry-out!

  • Gretchen F.

This place was ok. I feel it's overpriced for a lunch menu. I paid 8.60 for a green thai curry and had to pay an extra dollar to add broccoli because I'm allergic to bell peppers. The spice level was good but the flavor level was very lacking. The chicken was dry. I liked the ambiance and they are moving in 2 month to a close by location but since I don't live nearby I wouldn't go out of my way in the future. When will Thai people in the East coast get Thai food right at a reasonable price??? Singha Thai in Dunwoody knows what I like and they do it well. I wouldn't return.

  • Marcela M.

Just picked up a carry out order at this place. Paid for it, left a tip and noticed a bowl of mint chocolates that the servers were giving to customers with the check presenters when delivering the bill. I asked if I could have a chocolate, and the lady said "no, that's for dine-in only." Really?????? If I had a little more time, I would've sat down and eaten my food there, just to prove a point. But whatever...

Food was ok. But overpriced, big time. Especially since you have to pay extra for rice and the one that comes included is really small. All meats were overcooked. Decent flavors but not worth it when it comes to price/quantity.

  • Mayank S.

We love next door. Have been here many many times. Food is definitely good minus the chicken which is always very tough and dry. So I always used to eat here minus the chicken. So why am I give it 2 instead of 4 stars!!! Well if you like free attitude and tone which shows that we don't care, you care then it is 4 stars. But I for one like respect w food. If you come here scared of what the old lady is gonna say well then to me even 5 star food is not worth it. Especially if the insult goes towards your wife. Last time I went there was 6 months back. Next time would be when there is a new owner...

Consistently good Thai place near my office. I've had the pad thai, masaman curry, and pad see-ew. All were very good. The place also has fast service and lots of parking. Good combination in a weekday lunch spot.

I believe this is their new spot. In the Publix shopping center. It's cute on the inside. This place is ALWAYS the RIGHT decision for Thai. The food is fresh! and tasty! But be warned...they have a heavy hand with the spice. So be very careful of how you order. If you usually order "medium" ...go with mild. lol

It's very good and freshly prepared. It's about as good as it can get, I have been thinking on this one pretty deeply and I honestly cannot find one thing wrong with this place. It's a really decent restaurant and after reading some of these previous reviews; I am kinda of surprised of the ratings it received from previous customers. The only thing I can attribute this to, is an improvement in their food and service. This establishment is located off of Roswell Rd across the street from the Sandy Springs Gov't offices. It's located in this cool and sleazy strip shopping center home to a laundromat, liquor store and adult-porn store. I personally think it adds character. We went during the lunch hour and they had a nice, steady crowd. The dining room is roomy and I noticed very clean. The wait staff was attentive and efficient as well. I 1st ordered the Tom Kha soup, it includes slices of tender chicken or tofu in a creamy coconut milk with lemon grass, galanga, mushrooms and thai basil leaves. It was a very tasty cup of soup and tasted as if it was prepared freshly. Erawan states its food is organic and you can taste the difference. For the main course at lunch I had the Matsaman Curry. It contained Matsaman curry sauce with onion, potatoes, cashew nuts and coconut milk; plus the chicken. It was accompanied by a nice portion of organic white rice. You also can order an organic brown rice which I will do next time after sampling some. The dish was very flavorful and well balanced. I could taste the fresh and organic nature of the ingredients. The sauce was outstanding. The portion was appropriate for the lunch serving and I had to take some back home with me. Yes, in my opinion this place is very good and deserving of 5 stars. I do recommend it if you are in the Roswell area and have the hankering for some very good Thai food.

By far my absolute favorite restaurant in Sandy Springs. Everything on the menu is fresh, flavorful, and delicious. Anytime a friend wants to meet for dinner I suggest Erawan. My coworkers and I order carryout from Erawan at least once or twice a week, if not more. Dining in the restaurant is a great experience as well. The wait staff is very friendly, helpful, and attentive. My favorite dishes are the spicy Thai fried rice (AKA Basil fried rice) with chicken, and the salmon with basil sauce. Everything is always cooked to perfection, and I have never had a bad experience at Erawan. If you are looking for something tasty and not too expensive to eat in the Sandy Springs area, look no further! Erawan is the perfect place. Fast, friendly service, delicious food, and a relaxing atmosphere. 10 out of 10!!

This is my go to Thai Place. I am here for lunch and dinner at least twice a month. During my entire pregnancy I went to Erawan every other week. I always get the Shrimp Tom Yum Soup. I used to get it Thai Spicy but when I was pregnant, I had to lower it to just medium. I can never have a meal without the cream cheese roll! I like that they have organic options for the meats. I usually always order the Spicy Seafood Soup, or the Drunken Noodle or the Sweet and Sour Chicken. The sweet and Sour chicken has the best batter I have ever tasted. It seems more like a tempura batter. We always get extra chicken with the order which is a decent portion size. The staff are always so friendly and accomodating. Prices can add up for dinner, but I think the quality of food makes the price worth it. I love that you get a York Mint Patty with the check.

Im a Thai fan, a Thai fan with a terrible case of the sniffles for the first week of 2012. So I mosey on down Roswell less than a mile from where I grind on the weekdays......... I really like the service. Service to me is one thing that can make a distinction in a Thai restaurant rating. Its one thing to know the menu (doh ), but its a whole nother thing to be able to relate to what flavors the customer wants to experience because lets face it....flavor is the primary reason to go Thai in the first place For my sinus situation and my requirement to live on the fire end of the spicy scale, the waitress recommended the Thai Curry Noddles. The dish is delicious, but what kept this from being a 5 is simple.....they just didnt light me up like some other Thai places have with the heat index. Could be that Im too stuffed up to notice the extra heat.....but I was actually scared of the "Thai Hot" rating.........but Yum Yum Thai in Tucker has a Penang Curry that laps this one in heat. But thats the only thing I would say is lacking. The atmosphere and the food itself is very nice here. I will be back, and I probably would venture more for flavor than heat when I come back.

This was my first Thai experience. I thought it was delicious, and I can't wait to try some curry next time. I had the Pad Thai and the peanut sauce was incredible. Chicken was cooked well, but there wasn't a lot of it. The sprouts added a nice texture to the dish. It's close to my office, so I'll be doing it again!

One of my regular spots, great food! Service can be slow when they are busy, but it's worth the wait.

Needed a quick snack today when I came upon Erawan. The sign says "Organic Thai". Ok...? I only ordered soup, but they threw in a spring roll as well. The waitress made certain I knew that the spring roll was a mistake...and not to expect one with only soup the next time I visit. Considering how tasty it was, however, it was served cold...hmmmm. It was after the lunch rush so what did I expect?! The soup was only so-so...I think. It burned my mouth so badly at the first bite (from sheer heat, not spice) I really couldn't taste anything after. The broth had an odd taste compared to Tom Yum I've had elsewhere, but I couldn't put my finger on it. Maybe because it sat in a pot so long it was more like molten lava? Don't let the "organic" thing fool you. You have to pay extra for the organic ingredients. How do you know they're not the same thing that goes in everything "non-organic". And what? $1.50 for a bowl of rice? Hmmm? I just happened upon this place...I probably won't happen back. There are much better Thai restaurants closer to home.

I cook, eat and love Thai. I have eaten it all over Thailand, Southeast Asia and many, many places back home in California and find the offering here at Erawan to be some of the best I have had on this side of the world. Most of the dishes I have had at Erawan are put together in such a way that the flavors of each ingredient maintain their caricature and the balance of flavors are right. It is too often the case at many of the kitchens I have experienced that the flavors are one dimensional but Erawan knows how let all the ingredients speak for them selves and work together. Because most of the ingredients are organic, the veggies always taste great. All of the curries are great. I love red and green curries and the kitchen here does a really fine job with both. We like the Jungle Green Curry because the vegetables are always perfectly cooked and flavorful even in curry. Th Massaman Beef Curry and Penang Chicken Curry are as good as any I have had anywhere. Pad Thai can be a gloppy mess but here the noodles and sauce are cooked perfectly and are put together just right. We like it with chicken but it is great with prawn too. Try the fresh Spring Rolls. They roll up with basil leaves and the other fresh ingredients and are refreshing and tasty. A great way to start the meal. The only dish I find lacking the depth and complexity of the native dish is the Tom Yum Goong. I like Tom Yam to have a lot of Fish Sauce and have the Lemon Grass, Galengal and Lime leaves left in the bowl because I think they make the soup richer and more flavorful. The soup here is lighter and more subtile and maybe tuned to the local pallet. The soup works but it is not the stuff I dream of, crave and have almost every day when I am working in South East Asia. Like all thai places in the US, Erawan offer various levels of spiciness. I like most dishes so hot that I tear up but even their "Thai Hot" falls a bit short of that. This de-tuning is probably the only way thai places can stay in business here but I would like to get some dishes with a lot of fresh chili and take the spiciness up to native thai levels if I order it "Thai Hot." This is only a small gripe as most of my family and guests don't like to suffer like I do and at least Erawan uses fresh thai peppers when they are available. Most places here never use them and can barely seem to use any dry chili. The service has been awesome every time we have visited and there is one waitress that is a real pro. She knows her stuff about wine too. The young lady I am referring to speaks english like it is her first language table side and perfect thai in the kitchen which is exactly what is needed here. The staff is alway attentive but not obtrusive which is all I want. We are always impressed with the way these people treat their guests. We are spoiled because the location is a block away from home but some will have a terrible time finding the place. They are off the street and hidden in the corner of a strip shopping center so you can not see them at all from Roswell Road. If you have a hard time, look for the Publix grocery store near the corner of Roswell and Trowbridge and you will find Erawan about three doors north of Publix. Erawan is worth a drive from nearly anywhere in the area if you want great Thai. If you have a hard time finding it, keep trying, you will not be sorry.

Very disappointed. This is the reason why I don't try new Thai restaurants, especially when I order my favorite dish - Basil Chicken. I felt the food was water-downed and had no authentic flavor. The location is a hit/miss and in an odd siting.

Best Thai restaurant in this side of the town. My husband and I love going here any chance we get. Their Fried rice and Red curry are our personal favorites. I've also had the panang curry and drunken noodles which were also good. For those who like to experiment, you must try the fired banana dessert with mango ice cream. More than the banana, I loved the mango ice cream. Most of all, the service is wonderful and the staff is very welcoming :)

Ordered takeout. Great Springrolls! Pad-See-You was only okay. When I asked for extra chili sauce, she gave me one. I asked for another and she told me 'you ordered single order, you only get one' and turned and walked away. Seriously? This reminded me of another review of this place where they wouldn't give out a chocolate mint to a take-out customer. They/she needs a lesson on customer service. I will not go here again.

Amazing fresh food!! We feel so lucky to have that place close by but it will totally worth your driving from further. Coconut soup was delicious and the Ginger Tofu had so much flavor. Call for directions though because they moved from the yelp address a mile down at the Publix plaza.

We order out here all the time and love the curry and noodles with shrimp or tofu. I spent a decent amount of time in Thailand, even went to Thai cooking school for a day in Chang Mai, the curry at Erawan is top notch! The friend I went traveling with in Thailand was in Atlanta visiting from Colorado and he concurred. They'll give it to you Thai hot if you like or as easy on the chili as curry or noodles can go. The Panang and Green are my favorites. The Pad Thai and Pad See Ew are pleasing to the palate as well. The Basil Rolls / Spring Rolls (not deep fried) are phenomenal! The Tom Ka Soup isn't bad either, although the price on a large pot seems a little high for what you get. A lot of the reviews on here were surprising.

Very good food. Very good service - a bit slow because the dishes are made custom. (as opposed to mix-n-match sauces in most asian restaurants, where all dishes taste the same!). The salads were very authentic - I loved the papaya salad. Everyone at our table really enjoyed their meals. Went with a big group that wanted 6 checks for the table. The service was provided with grace.

So, let's play a game. You fill in the blank: Asian Massage Parlor, Liquor Store, ______ , Adult Toy Store Answer: Erawan. So, it's 6:15am, and I'll keep this simple. Strange location, amazing food. Happy dining!

I cannot believe I have not written a review for Erawan yet!!! This place really is "as good as it gets"! My whole department at work orders from this place at least once a week - sometimes more. I always order the panang chicken (medium) with brown rice and it makes me want to cry it is so good. Sometimes-when I really want to stuff myself-I also order an extra spring roll or some coconut soup. Apparently all of their food is organic, and I can swear to you it is amazingly tasty. If you are a thai food connoisseur, do not miss Erawan!!

Erawan. This gastronomical gem named after a Three-Headed Elephant is easy to miss. It's tucked in a small shopping center next to a liquor store and an adult "toy" store/smokeshop on Roswell Road. The sign on the restaurant boasts "Organic Thai", and I must admit that descriptor gave me an extra incentive to eat there last night. I was a little nervous about being one of two tables in the whole place, but I figured, "It's Monday. Monday's are always slow." I'm so glad that we took a chance! The menu: You're sure to find many "old favorites" along with new adventures, and I was impressed with the great selection of vegetarian options. What's good?? Everything we ordered!: - The Coconut Soup (Tom Kha): They give you an option for chicken or tofu, and they actually ask you how spicy you want it. Has kaffir lime, lemongrass, mushrooms, and cilantro in it. VERY VERY good. - The crab/cheese rolls. Essentially a spring roll wrapper with crab rangoon-type stuffing (cream cheese, crab,?), deep fried. So yummy, my friends were actually FIGHTING over the last bite! - Larb (Chicken): I had never had this before. A tangy spicy ground chicken dish with cilantro & red onions. It's served with a wedge of lettuce, so that you can make mini-wraps. LOVED it! Great heat and flavor. Order it! You know you want to... - Massaman Curry with Shrimp. Big yum! Given the choice between brown & white rice, my friend went with brown. Good choice! The heartiness of the grain was a perfect complement to the bliss of potatoes, cashews, and shrimp. I thought I tasted a hint of peanut butter, but I could be mistaken. Either way, this dish was a win! I wish I had saved room for dessert. Oh well! Next time... After this delicious sampling of what Erawan has on the menu, I can recommend this restaurant with confidence. You will want to go back again. I know I do!

This is our favorite Thai restaurant and one of our favorite restaurants in the area. It has delicious food, pretty decor, and nice staff. In our family, we are a mix of vegetarians and meat eaters and we have all been happy with the selections of both.We have been eating here for at least 10 years and it has never disappointed. We love Thai food and we always take our friends and family from out of town here if they like Thai food. Everyone is always impressed. On many occasions, we have ordered take out to entertain at our home when we did not want to cook (or if the planned meal burned (: ) It is a funny location, next to a liquor store, etc, so perhaps that is why it is not crowded. It may not be noticed by those who drive by. PS for kids, try the banana dessert with ice cream May, 2014-The location of Erawan has changed in the past couple years-no longer next to a liquor or sex toy store! It is now located next to a grocery store and veterinarian. We still frequent the restaurant frequently. Food, ambience, and service are still excellent.

Okkk so I have eaten here twice..the first time, I was not too impressed and the second time I think I felt sick!!! No kidding!! I should have learnt the first time I went there, but the client decided to take us and oh well a girl cant say no to a Client...sometimes I wish I did!!! The food here seems like it is just thrown together! It does not taste like thai food at all! Even though they have good lunch specials...its not worth it, its better to go across the street to Moes then going here.

Erawan used to the mediocre Thai ,but recently the menu was updated and it was changed to an "organic" Thai restaurant. What ever that means. anyways, it's actually now pretty good. The thai fried rice is better than it used to be . the yellow curry is good, and I don't even like curry. It's sandwiched in a little strip mall with between "massage" palor, a liquor store and a adult novelty shop. They have this really good crab and seaweed soup. It's very similar to the asparagus and crab soup at Co'm. The seaweed is a little overpowering. So I usually take it out and let the soup sit in the fridge for a day before eating.

This pace is next to a sex shop and the food is okay. My family is Thai and I've eaten thai food in Thailand. The meat is cheap and I can tell the entrees are made poorly with off blanced seasoning.

I've eaten here many times and think Erawan is a great Thai option. The food is good and the service excellent. The atmosphere, particularly the other strip center occupants leave something to be desired, but I highly recommend Erawan to anyone looking for very good Thai food.

This place is quite good. They have fresh vegetables and everything just tastes...FRESH! I like that they are willing to accomodate your small changes to a dish -- i.e. no broccoli and substitute cabbage. The portion size at lunch is good. They also give you a spring roll w/ all the entrees. I also like that they do not charge you for soda refills. I usually get the tofu and veggies but friends have ordered Pad Thai and a wide variety off the menu and everyone has liked their dish. A big bonus here is that they also give you the option for brown rice and I must say, their brown rice is quite tasty! The coconut soup was rather expensive at $4 a pop and wasn't all that great. That was my only complaint! Overall, this is a great place for lunch and the staff is always very kind.
